Jaguar V12 Coolant Temperature Sender

Coolant Temperature Gauge Sender

That's it, on top of the right front coolant manifold, near the right side thermostat, with the GU wire to it.

On the opposite side, in a similar location, is another coolant temperature sending unit, except that one has a two-wire Bosch connector and sends its signal to the EFI system.  It has recently become apparent that, if this engine decides to overheat due to radiator blockage (entirely too common!), it affects the left side first.  Therefore, the EFI system knows the engine is hot and leans out the fuel mixture accordingly (bad!) while the gauge on the dash continues to indicate all is well on the right side.  As a result, it would actually be a good idea to swap locations between these two senders.  The wires are long enough, too; both wires are actually routed down the center of the vee, so with a little fiddling they can be rerouted without cutting and splicing.  It's not known if the sender threads are the same.

This is Kirby Palm's '83, which has had the overrun valves removed; that rubber plug right of center is where a connection used to be for the right side overrun valve.
