I started to notice a buildup of crud in the heater lines
to the point that the inner matrix lines were getting clogged.

Solution:
I purchased a Prestone radiator flush kit and attached it to the inlet and outlet sides of the matrix tubes. Flushed first in the normal flow direction which removed mucho garbo, and then back flushed to dislodge and remove more crud. Finally I completed with a flush again in the normal direction and ended up with a cleaned heater matrix. Still working great, saved me from having the nightmare of removing the matrix. A cooling line filter should be attached to all Jag engines to prevent this from happening. And eventually to save a Jaguar from it's worst enemy, overheating.
