Wire wheel sources

Wire Wheel Sources

Hi all, I have quotes for a set of 5 chrome and stainless steel Dayton wire
wheels from British Wire wheels in California and Sports and Classics in
CT. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to where I might get
competitive pricing. Who manufactures them and where are they located.
Thanks - Neville Laing.

try Hemmings for New England Wire wheel. Don't have an address, but they
are usually at fall lime rock. They offered stainless spokes and nipples
and rechromes rims... watch out for the india stuff. - John Shuck..Beijing

I would suggest that you British Wire Wheel. I have purchased many sets of
wheels and tires and you cannot beat their price or service.. - Lee Eggers

Neville, The Jaguar Enthusiast club magazine (UK) usually sports several
ads from sundry suppliers of wire wheels. You pay no VAT and surface
shipping costs should not be excessive. And as John said, no India stuff.
Regards - Klaus Nielsen

In support of so called "India stuff" I've bought four sets of 16" chrome
wires over the years and one set of 15" with stainless spokes. Two of these
sets were Dunlops from Motor Wheel Services, made in India, including the
SS spoke set. All have provided good service, but the Indian wheels have
proved the most durable, with the least rust on the spokes and rims . Some
so called "made in the UK" brands have rusted through the chrome within a
few months. Maybe American brands are better. - Roger Learmonth
