It states that Jaguar were unable to supply catalogues for the 1930-1947 period due to much material being destroyed by 'enemy-action'. However, since there was no recorded enemy damage to Jaguar's stores at Coventry, it's more likely that they had simply destroyed their stocks of brochures and catalogues for reasons unknown! 1948 Jaguar Cars

Also shown are Mr Bates original invitation to join the then Swallow Coachbuilding Company in 1934, his SS Cars Ltd pass with its special Fireman's Permit, and his copy of the company's Mutual Aid Fund for War Damage Rules and Benefits booklet. 21st July 1999 The cover for this brochure Open in new window Hess & Eisenhardt began converting the XJ-S coupe to meet demand until Jaguar eventually produce convertibles themselves. The folder has an interleaved tissue insert placed over the top of the main car illustration to show what it looks like with the top raised. 1988 XJ-S
