Manuals and Bulletins

Factory Workshop Manuals for the XJ40 can be ordered fron the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in the UK or thru Jaguar dealers in the US. Click here for details.

This will never be a replacement for a good workshop manual; personally I’d recommend the full Jaguar workshop manual, but a Haynes is better than nothing, and for some jobs, better than the Jag one so if you can, get both...

Technical service bulletins are available at: http://www.alldata.com. They offer free T.S.B. titles on line and sell T.S.B. CD ROMs

Foreword

Jaguar models do vary from country to country and year to year. Whilst I will try to note differences there will be many missing, not deliberately, just because I don’t know them. If you find any errors, and there will be some, please let me know so I can correct them.

Note that no-one involved with this on-line book will accept any responsibility for any injuries, damage or loss of income or anything resulting from this information.

Do remember some obvious thing before you start work :

- Make sure you have the tools to finish the job
- Make sure you have the time to finish the job
- Make sure you have the space to do the job
- Keep your work area clean and tidy
- Be careful with petrol and other flammable liquids
- Above all show some common sense when you're working and be safe.

With any luck you’ll find you enjoy working on your Jaguar and you’ll find it adds to your appreciation of the car.
